KK Wind Solutions, a global leader in renewable energy systems, has signed a framework agreement with Danish clean-tech pioneer Stiesdal Hydrogen. Under the agreement, KK Wind Solutions will supply key electrical and thermal management systems for a revolutionary green hydrogen plant concept designed to significantly lower production costs.
This collaboration directly targets one of the industry’s biggest challenges: capital expenditure. Stiesdal Hydrogen’s new plant design aims for a CAPEX below €1,000 per kilowatt, a major reduction compared to current market prices, paving the way for more affordable green hydrogen.
Under the agreement, KK Wind Solutions will deliver integrated Power Supply Units (PSU) and Electrolyser Control Systems. These technologies are crucial for ensuring the stable and efficient operation of the electrolysis process, managing dynamic power inputs from renewable sources to maximize the production of green hydrogen while lowering operating costs. The plants are designed for flexibility, starting with standardized 3.1 MW electrolyser modules to form 12.4 MW blocks that can be easily scaled to larger capacities.
The solution also incorporates state-of-the-art thermal management from Nissens Cooling Solutions, now part of KK Wind Solutions. This integration of power, control, and cooling systems ensures optimal performance, efficiency, and safety under demanding operational conditions.

A Proven Partnership
This new agreement builds on a strong partnership established in 2021. The companies have already collaborated to develop a prototype solution, and in 2023, they successfully produced the first kilogram of green hydrogen at a project in Denmark. Having already delivered several units to Stiesdal, this framework agreement solidifies the partnership for future turnkey hydrogen plants. By combining advanced power conversion with next-generation cooling, this collaboration represents a critical step toward scaling affordable green hydrogen production in Europe.
