Renewable energy developer GreenGo Energy and Chinese equipment manufacturer Jiangsu Shuangliang New Energy Equipment Co., Ltd. have signed a memorandum of cooperation to jointly advance megaton-scale green hydrogen and green ammonia projects across Africa.
The partnership pairs GreenGo’s large-scale Power-to-X project development pipeline in Mauritania and Namibia with Shuangliang’s expertise in smart green power-to-hydrogen systems, high-efficiency equipment manufacturing, and industrial process engineering.
The primary focus of the partnership is to transition GreenGo’s African “Megaton” projects from initial conceptual designs toward bankable feasibility studies and Front-End Engineering Design (FEED).
Industrial Execution and Core Hydrogen Hardware
Under the terms of the agreement, the two companies will collaborate across several core execution pillars:
-
Bankable Feasibility & FEED: Translating project concepts into financeable technical configurations that meet strict international investment standards.
-
Hydrogen Equipment Supply: Evaluating and supplying Shuangliang’s latest-generation smart power-to-hydrogen systems, engineered to handle variable renewable power inputs while maintaining low energy consumption.
-
Engineering Services: Providing end-to-end technical support to convert renewable electricity into commercial-grade green hydrogen and ammonia at scale.
“To deliver green competitive green ammonia at true industrial scale, strong project development has to be matched by industrial partners that can engineer and deliver the core technology,” said GreenGo Energy in a statement. “Shuangliang brings significant hydrogen-equipment and engineering capabilities, and this cooperation is an important step in maturing our Mauritania and Namibia Megaton projects toward bankable FEED and investment.”
Securing Africa’s Green Hydrogen Export Corridor
Both Mauritania and Namibia have emerged as primary global hubs for green hydrogen production, owing to their vast solar and wind resources, abundant land, and strategic coastal proximity for export routes to European and Asian markets.
Shuangliang New Energy Equipment, a subsidiary of Shuangliang Eco-Energy Systems Co., Ltd., specializes in large-scale hydrogen electrolysis hardware designed specifically for off-grid and variable renewable energy integration.
By integrating Shuangliang’s manufacturing capability into GreenGo’s project footprint, the partnership aims to accelerate execution timelines, lower capital intensity, and establish a fully integrated green hydrogen-to-ammonia value chain across West and Southern Africa.
