Infinium, a pioneer in the electrofuels industry, has inaugurated the world’s first commercial-scale facility for producing drop-in ready electrofuels (eFuels) in Corpus Christi, Texas. Named Project Pathfinder, this continuously operating plant is producing synthetic, ultra-low carbon eFuels suitable for heavy transportation and chemical processes.
Robert Schuetzle, CEO of Infinium, credited the milestone to the exceptional team effort in pioneering commercial eFuels production, logistics, and delivery programs. With complete control over the eFuels production process, Infinium is positioned to swiftly expand its global production capabilities.
Infinium’s eFuels, including sustainable aviation fuel (eSAF), eDiesel, and eNaphtha, are created from captured CO2 and green hydrogen derived from renewable sources, utilizing a patented process. These eFuels, which contain no sulfur and are produced without process emissions, have earned the prestigious ISCC PLUS certification for their sustainability and traceability.
Project Pathfinder showcases Infinium’s innovative fuel production technology, integrating patented catalysts, on-site electrolyzers, and a state-of-the-art laboratory to efficiently produce and distribute eFuels. As the world’s sole operational facility of its kind, Project Pathfinder doubles as Infinium’s eFuels Center of Excellence, propelling the company’s learning and standardization efforts for scaling up production.
With over a dozen projects in development across the United States, European Union, Japan, and Australia, Infinium is at the forefront of transforming the energy landscape by providing sustainable fuel alternatives for existing combustion engines and chemical processes.
