Lhyfe Secures First Long-Term Green Hydrogen Supply Deal in Germany with H2 MOBILITY

Lhyfe (EURONEXT: LHYFE), a leading global producer of green hydrogen, has signed its first long-term offtake agreement in Germany with H2 MOBILITY Deutschland, a major developer of hydrogen refueling stations. This landmark five-year deal will see Lhyfe supply over 1,200 tons of green hydrogen from its upcoming production site in Schwäbisch Gmünd, the largest green hydrogen plant in Baden-Württemberg.

Under this agreement, Lhyfe will deliver renewable hydrogen, classified as Renewable Fuels of Non-Biological Origin (RFNBO), for use in four H2 MOBILITY refueling stations across Baden-Württemberg and Rhineland-Palatinate. The first deliveries will be made to stations in Ludwigshafen and Frankenthal, starting in 2025.

Luc Graré, Head of Central and Eastern Europe at Lhyfe, emphasized the importance of the partnership: “This agreement is the realization of Lhyfe and H2 MOBILITY’s shared ambition to provide green hydrogen at scale for the mobility sector, which is critical for decarbonizing transport. By ensuring a reliable hydrogen supply and expanding the refueling infrastructure, we are making zero-carbon transport a reality for the region.”

Frank Fronzke, Managing Director and COO at H2 MOBILITY, added: “Our goal is to power our entire network with green hydrogen by 2028. This partnership with Lhyfe is a significant step toward achieving that target. Green hydrogen is essential for making the transport sector more sustainable, and with this agreement, our new refueling stations will be ready to provide it starting in 2025.”

Lhyfe’s production process utilizes electrolysis powered by renewable energy to generate green hydrogen. With several operational sites across Europe, including the Schwäbisch Gmünd facility, Lhyfe is aiming to become a major player in Germany’s green hydrogen market, particularly for mobility and industry, by 2025.

Expanding Hydrogen Infrastructure for a Greener Future

H2 MOBILITY currently operates around 80 public hydrogen refueling stations across Germany, catering to fuel cell vehicles like passenger cars and smaller commercial vehicles. Additionally, 33 stations are equipped for refueling buses and trucks at 350 bar, with more stations under development. The expansion of this network will be driven by demand, particularly along the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T), supporting the broader adoption of green hydrogen in the transportation sector.

This partnership between Lhyfe and H2 MOBILITY is set to play a pivotal role in advancing Germany’s hydrogen infrastructure and accelerating the transition to a more sustainable, zero-carbon transport system.
