PowerCell is proud to announce its participation in the H2MAC project, a groundbreaking four-year initiative funded by the European Union. This ambitious project seeks to research and develop hydrogen-powered fuel cells capable of withstanding the extreme conditions of the construction and mining industries, including exposure to dust, vibrations, and demanding operational environments. The goal is to create a scalable, robust fuel cell (FCE) powertrain tailored for Non-Road Mobile Machinery (NRMM), ensuring efficient and reliable performance in real-world scenarios.
Launching in 2024, the H2MAC project is supported by the Clean Hydrogen Joint Undertaking and brings together a consortium of expert partners. PowerCell has been awarded €793,000 to contribute its expertise in systems and application integration, specifically adapting hydrogen fuel cells for harsh environments. Key project milestones include systems delivery between Q4 2025 and Q1 2026, with initial operational tests planned for Autumn 2026. PowerCell’s extensive experience in engineering fuel cell systems for challenging applications makes it a critical player in the project.
