Plug Power Expands Global Footprint with 2 GW Green Hydrogen Deal in Uzbekistan

Plug Power Inc. (NASDAQ: PLUG), a global leader in integrated hydrogen solutions, has announced a major expansion of its strategic partnership with Allied Green Ammonia (AGA) through a new 2 gigawatt (GW) electrolyzer agreement linked to a $5.5 billion sustainable fuels project in Uzbekistan. The announcement was made in conjunction with the Tashkent International Investment Forum, where Sanjay Shrestha, President of Plug, and Alfred Benedict, Managing Director of AGA, will officially sign the deal.

The Uzbekistan facility will use Plug’s state-of-the-art electrolyzer technology as the foundation for producing sustainable aviation fuel, green urea, and green diesel, marking a key milestone in the region’s green industrial transformation. The project is backed by the Government of Uzbekistan, further solidifying Plug’s role as a preferred electrolyzer provider for large-scale decarbonization initiatives worldwide.

“This expansion with Allied Green shows how Plug is at the forefront of the global hydrogen transition,” said Andy Marsh, CEO of Plug. “With a 5 GW partnership spanning two continents, this is a powerful example of our capability to deliver hydrogen infrastructure at industrial scale.”

The deal builds on Allied Green’s earlier 3 GW electrolyzer commitment for its flagship green ammonia project in Australia, which remains on track for final investment decision (FID) in Q4 2025. Combined, the Australia and Uzbekistan projects represent a 5 GW portfolio powered by Plug’s electrolyzer systems.

“Our collaboration with Plug is built on trust in their technology and execution. After Australia, Uzbekistan is the next step in a broader global roadmap,” said Alfred Benedict, Managing Director of AGA.

“Plug’s scalable electrolyzer technology is perfectly suited to meet the ambitious decarbonization targets of our partners,” added Sanjay Shrestha, President of Plug. “This growing partnership highlights our shared commitment to accelerating the global shift toward low-carbon hydrogen.”

With operations spanning five continents, Plug is a global powerhouse in hydrogen infrastructure. Its technologies support industrial, transportation, chemical, and energy sectors through a full-stack offering of electrolyzers, fuel cell systems, hydrogen delivery and storage solutions, and refueling infrastructure.
