Charbone Begins Civil Construction on Quebec’s First Clean UHP Hydrogen Production Facility

Charbone Hydrogen Corporation (TSXV: CH; OTCQB: CHHYF; FSE: K47), a North American leader in clean hydrogen and specialty industrial gases, has officially begun civil construction on its first Ultra-High Purity (UHP) hydrogen production plant in Quebec. The work at the company’s Sorel-Tracy site began on October 27, marking the transition from planning to full-scale construction.

This milestone signals the start of the site’s infrastructure phase, which includes preparing technical systems and laying the foundations for the hydrogen production modules. The core equipment—delivered successfully earlier this month—will be installed as soon as groundwork is complete.

Once operational, the facility will represent the first modular, clean UHP hydrogen production site in Quebec, designed to supply locally produced, low-carbon hydrogen for industrial and energy applications across the province.

“Seeing this project move forward exactly on schedule is a proud moment for our entire team,” said Dave B. Gagnon, CEO of Charbone Hydrogen. “Breaking ground in Sorel-Tracy turns our vision of clean, decentralized hydrogen production into reality. Every step we complete brings us closer to commissioning in November and to scaling our modular model across North America.”

Charbone’s modular approach allows for rapid deployment and localised hydrogen generation—key elements in supporting the energy transition and decarbonisation goals of Quebec and Canada. The company views this project as the foundation for a growing network of regional clean hydrogen hubs across the continent.
