Envision Energy Announces $1 Billion Investment to Build Europe’s First Green Hydrogen Net Zero Industrial Park in Spain

Envision Energy, a global leader in green hydrogen and net-zero technologies, has announced a groundbreaking investment to drive Spain’s renewable energy future. In collaboration with the Spanish government and key industry and financial leaders, Envision will develop Europe’s first integrated green hydrogen net zero industrial park. This initiative aims to accelerate Spain’s decarbonization efforts and support the country’s ambitious goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 23% by 2030.

The industrial park, ratified as part of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed during the Spanish Prime Minister’s recent visit to China, will house cutting-edge facilities for the design, research, manufacture, and service of green hydrogen technology. Key components will include electrolysis systems, air separation units (ASU), ammonia synthesis, and a completed module facility for scalable green ammonia production, all of which are critical for decarbonizing Spain’s hard-to-abate industries.

Green Hydrogen Centre of Excellence and Facility

Envision will also establish a state-of-the-art Green Hydrogen Centre of Excellence at the industrial park, reinforcing the company’s commitment to innovation in the green hydrogen value chain. The facility will play a central role in Spain’s Hydrogen Roadmap by contributing 5 gigawatts of electrolysis capacity, helping the country reach its target of 11 gigawatts by 2030.

The new facility will produce high-capacity proton exchange membrane electrolyzers, low and high-pressure alkaline electrolyzers, and other critical equipment needed for green hydrogen production. Powered entirely by locally generated clean energy from biomass, solar, and wind sources, the facility will be a fully green, sustainable ecosystem.

With an initial investment of $1 billion, Envision and its partners will create 1,000 new green jobs. Construction is set to begin in the first half of 2026, with Envision working closely with the Spanish government to select an optimal site. Once completed, the facility will be a Bureau Veritas-certified net-zero industrial park, contributing significantly to Spain’s renewable energy goals.

Statements from Leaders

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez praised the project, saying: “With your new commitment to invest a billion dollars in partnership with the industry, to build an electrolyzer factory in Spain, you are not just contributing to our economy. You are helping us build a better future.”

Lei Zhang, Founder and Chairman of Envision Energy, added: “Spain, with its ideal resources, market scale, and expertise, is well-positioned to become a European leader in green hydrogen. Envision, along with our net zero tech partners, is excited to play a role in securing Spain’s green energy future.”

Advancing Green Hydrogen Innovation

The Green Hydrogen Centre of Excellence will serve as a hub for building local expertise, fostering innovation, and attracting industrial collaborations across Spain. By integrating renewable energy production, energy storage, and net-zero digital technologies, Envision aims to reduce hydrogen production costs, ensure a constant clean energy supply, and establish the commercial viability of green hydrogen as a key element of the global energy transition.

Envision’s investment marks a significant step towards making Spain a leader in the green hydrogen revolution, while also contributing to the broader goal of achieving a net-zero future.
